What motivated you to pursue your passion?

I've always had a craving for adventure and creativity since I was very little, and I was always extremely active (maybe even hyperactive).  I guess I just married the two to create a career!  Over the years, my career goals have shifted a number of times, but I realize now that each was a stepping stone to where I am now, and what I do.  I have been motivated by many people and experiences along the way, so narrowing it down will be tough.  The path to being an entrepreneur, however, was directly influenced by the announcement of my son's conception.  Something about that news gave me the strength and courage to.  I resigned my job that night and I haven't looked back since.

Who inspires you the most?

Again, a tough question to narrow down.  Quite a number of people have inspired me along the journey, and I add a few every year unexpectedly.  This world is full of amazing minds and energy!  It's hard not to be...

How do you handle the various challenges surrounding what you do?

Is that what it looks like to the average person out there?  I'm handling it?  Quite the opposite!  If I had to answer that seriously, I'd say learning how to handle challenges and "hairy" situations comes from surfing.  When you're out there faced with an advancing 8 foot wall of water, it's either you make the wave, or you don't!  Hesitation is not an option, so once you've made a conscious decision, you live by it and handle what comes with it...  whether you like the outcome or not.  Failing a favourable outcome, you let the wave do to you what it may.  You just gotta roll with it till it's done.  Then you come back up for air and charge it again!  No backing down...

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I've tried visualize that several times during my life, and the 5th year outcome is never what I thought or expected it to be.  Sometimes better, sometimes worse...  but always a great series of lessons along the way.  So I've stopped thinking ahead in 5 year increments anymore.  I set goals and deadlines, and try my very best to stick to the deadline.  A goal without a deadline is just a dream.  My end game however, is a setting where there's a house in the hills of Paramin that I own, overlooking the northern coastline of Trinidad.  I'm swinging in a hammock on an evening as the sun sets watching my kids play in the yard below.  The breeze is amazing :)

What advice would you give to someone up and coming?

I'm not sure I'm in a position to give advice just yet, I have a lot of experiences and a lot to learn still.  I am but a student of what I do.  However, what I will say is... make sure you really, REALLY want this.  It takes a lot of determination, so once you're persistent and consistent enough, and adamant about producing a quality service/product, things will come your way.  Also, do it with genuine passion, and not in a vein to undercut or betray the production community that exists locally.  Try to work with them and collaborate as much as possible.  And leave your egos at home!!!!  You never know EVERYTHING!  Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, especially at the rapid pace that technology is progressing.
